Fruitcake Blondies

Fruitcake Blondies





1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1/4 cup melted margarine or butter
3 cups self-rising flour
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup dried blueberries
1/2 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup golden raisins
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 large egg, beaten
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  In a large bowl, mix together the margarine, sugars, lemon juice, egg, and vanilla extract until well incorporated.  Add the flour, nuts, dried fruits, chocolate morsels,  and spices and stir until well-incorporated.  In a 13" X 9" pan, bake in oven for 30-45 minutes.  Cool on rack for at least half an hour.  Cut into bars and then finally, serve. Will serve at least 12.
